Description
Indications
Diampa Tablet 25mg Type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled by diet and exercise; as monotherapy when metformin is not tolerated; or with other hypoglycaemic including insulin, when these alone are inadequate.
Dosage Adults:
Diampa Tablet 25mg once daily, increase to 25 mg once daily if necessary. In combination therapy consider lower dose of insulin/sulfonylurea. Children: Not recommended.
Advice to Patient
Take with meals.
Pharmacokinetics
Metabolism: Hepatic. Half-life elimination: 12.4 hrs. Time to peak: 1.5 hrs. Excretion: Urine (54.4%). Faeces (41.2%).
Interactions
Diuretics, antihypertensive, agents that affect renal function, UGT enzyme inducers.
Adverse effects
Genital infection, UTI, increased urination, pruritus. In combination therapy hypoglycaemia.
