Betaval cream
INDICATIONS:
Eczema, Psoriasis, Neurodermatoses, seborrhoeic dermatitis, contact sensitivity reactions, discoid lupus erythematosus, insect bite reactions and prickly heat.
DOSAGE ADMINISTRATIONS:
A small quantity should be applied to the affected area 2-3 times daily until improvement occurs. Thereafter once a day application may sufficient.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to any ingredients, Rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital pruritus. Primary skin lesion by viruses, fungi or bacteria. It should not be used in children under 1 year of age including dermatitis & napkins enrupations.
PRECAUTIONS & WARNING:
Long term therapy should be avoided especially in infants and children as adrenal suppression may occur. Care should be taken so that the preparation does not enter the eyes as glaucoma may result. In secondary infected lessons antimicrobial therapy should be used, in cases of spread of infections, topical steroid therapy should be stopped. Prolonged application on face should be avoided. During pregnancy avoid extensive use.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Local atrophic changes e.g. Thinning, striae, dilatation of superficial blood vessels. Pigmentation, hypertrichosis. As with other corticosteroids, hypercorticism may occur with prolonged use. Sometimes hypersensitivity reactions and exacerbation of symptoms may occur.
